Aggregation of Zoospores on Sharklet Microtopographic Surfaces

چکیده
Surfaces with engineered microtopographies are potential candidate against biofouling to replace the use of biocides in marine environment. Understanding antifouling mechanism microtopographic surfaces microorganisms, however, has been limited. In this work, we theoretically studied aggregation Ulva linza zoospores on Sharklet topographic by employing extended Surface Energetic Attachment (SEA) model proposedin a previous work. The energy parameters were obtained matching theoretical results experimental data for one type surface. Monte Carlo simulations then carried out series various numbers distinct features. Inagreement prior results, our indicate that topographies promote smaller aggregates than those smooth Furthermore, show maximum effect topography aggregate size U. can be just 3

Optical Triangulation-Based Microtopographic Inspection of Surfaces
The non-invasive inspection of surfaces is a major issue in a wide variety of industries and research laboratories. The vast and increasing range of surface types, tolerance requirements and measurement constraints demanded during the last decades represents a major research effort in the development of new methods, systems and metrological strategies. The discreet dimensional evaluation the ru...
متن کاملDiffusion-Limited Aggregation on Curved Surfaces
We develop a general theory of transport-limited aggregation phenomena occurring on curved surfaces, based on stochastic iterated conformal maps and conformal projections to the complex plane. To illustrate the theory, we use stereographic projections to simulate diffusionlimited-aggregation (DLA) on surfaces of constant Gaussian curvature, including the sphere (K > 0) and pseudo-sphere (K < 0)...
متن کاملAuto-aggregation in zoospores of Phytophthora infestans: the cooperative roles of bioconvection and chemotaxis.
Phytophthora infestans is a highly destructive plant pathogen. It was the cause of the infamous Irish potato famine in the nineteenth century and remains to this day a significant global problem with associated costs estimated at $3 billion annually. Key to the success of this pathogen is the dispersal of free-swimming cells called zoospores. A poorly understood aspect of zoospore behaviour is ...
متن کاملProtein structural perturbation and aggregation on homogeneous surfaces.
We have demonstrated that globular proteins, such as hen egg lysozyme in phosphate buffered saline at room temperature, lose native structural stability and activity when adsorbed onto well-defined homogeneous solid surfaces. This structural loss is evident by alpha-helix to turns/random during the first 30 min and followed by a slow alpha-helix to beta-sheet transition. Increase in intramolecu...

this experimental study has been conducted to test the effect of oral presentation on the development of l2 learners grammar. but this oral presentation is not merely a deductive instruction of grammatical points, in this presentation two hypotheses of krashen (input and low filter hypotheses), stevicks viewpoints on grammar explanation and correction and widdowsons opinion on limited use of l1...
